Journey to 30
So the time has come. January 2018. I’m going to be 30 in 25 days and it’s kind-of scary. Another decade complete, twenties long gone… So, from what I’ve heard, your 30s are supposed to be great, but I don’t know that just yet! Hopefully it will be, but I have another ten years to find out!
I’ve been thinking a lot about this new decade. Thinking about my health, my relationships, my career, my family, my future, etc. Just as we think about the past year come December 31st, it’s sort of a similar thought process when you enter a new decade, but way more provoking. It’s like a little intimidating to think about how you’ve been living your life. Not that suddenly at the strike of midnight, when you go from 29 to 30, that you should reevaluate everything, but it’s a good time to reflect.
In my twenties, I finished college, went through grad school, I got married, made a huge career change, and moved between three states and four cities. I lost a very close family member, watched my sister graduate from college and start her life. And, I think I am really learning what it means to be a wife and to think and act for the collective good. You know at some point, probably after year 27, I could feel myself maybe getting a bit more mature. Also, I think I understand now that, no matter how old you are, or how much you’ve experienced, you really don’t know that much about life in general! That perhaps, we have to constantly work at bettering ourselves, and learning from our mistakes.
This year of 30, I’ve decided to in a different direction. Each month, I am going to take on a different ‘project’. The goal, is to take on a different aspect of my life- whether it’s organization, eating health, etc. and share my experiences on the project.
Also, since this year, we’re trying to be a little more focused with our finances, I’ll be presenting an outfit on a budget once a month (probably with a range of 50-100) featuring a different store, online shop, etc. New year, new age!
Dress- The exact dress is no longer on the website- but here’s a close one- Zara Dress; I know it’s a bit ‘Little House on the Prairie’ but it’s incredibly comfortable and awesome with some long boots!
